Sterling on Danny Rose and racism

Raheem Sterling on Danny Rose: “I’ve heard stories of his past and in youth teams and stuff like that, so I think it’s something he’s come across quite a number of times and it probably is getting too much for him but I respect his comments and it’s a shame to hear that really.”

Raheem Sterling: “I don’t think I’m trying to make a difference, as I said it’s about speaking [about] what you’ve experienced and some people probably shied away from that but I’m a person when I do feel that something’s not quite right I want to speak about it…”

Raheem Sterling: “I want people to see it from my perspective and I think that’s the best way forward, if more players do speak up then the better it will be, but as I said again I’m not trying but everyone will say I’m a leader because of that.”
